Doctors don’t guarantee outcomes. When they clear a player, it’s an evaluation of his current injury status. They always issue a caveat that it could worsen. Or maybe it was so severe he just couldn’t perform well because of the pain. That wouldn’t have helped his draft stock.
Watch Embiid right now in the playoffs. He’s playing through several complications. He’s being constantly evaluated by doctors to update his status. He gets cleared… but he’s playing at risk.
Are you thinking Kevin just didn’t want to play? He put everything into getting to this part of KU’s season.
I think for maybe a little bit different reasons than NIL and portal that college football suffered a major crisis last season when EVERY bowl was impacted besides the playoff. Screw the fans. Screw your teammates. Screw your coach. Finish your regular season and quit. Bowl games a major snoozefest for the most part. Will be interesting to see if some kids will quit even if their team makes the playoff. It’s possible because there will be some 12th ranked team that is the last team in and will think they have no chance to beat OSU/Mich or KU (!!) and quit because their NFL career is calling.
One of my favorite Jayhawks has a lesion on his brain and will have surgery. He has been treating it with meds unsuccessfully and after meeting with specialists has decided on surgery. Not much info.
